The Kramer Paper has sported a distinctive red and yellow pennant on its masthead, flying beside the Paper’s name since 2017. While some of our readers are undoubtedly familiar with the K-flag already, perhaps other readers have been curious as to its origins.
The “K Flag” originated as the owner’s pennant for a 41’ Cruiser which my grandfather operated in lake Erie in the 1960s. It has been used as a logo on other miscelenious vehicles in our family as well, including a camper that my parents owned in the late 70s
The original flag currently resides on static-display in Portland, OR, after it was inherited by its current owner in the early 2000s.
